Web Software Engineer

We are seeking a broad range Web Software Engineer to support our build and deployment infrastructure. If you have a passion for frontend and backend development and are looking to join a rapidly growing start-up with an opportunity to revolutionize health, this might just be for you. You will be working with a team of data scientists, mobile engineers and UX designers to build and support enterprise and consumer web interfaces, maintain and improve API drivers and deploy on linux servers.

Skills & Experience

• Web-development experience, either through consulting projects or employment
• Either extensive front-end development (Javascript, CSS, HTML) experience with a strong set of backend development (Python/Django, MySQL, PHP) knowledge or vice versa.
• Deployment: Run on multiple web servers, load balancing, database sharding, sys-admin skills
• Security: Implement SSL, firewalls, access control and other security requirements
• Metrics: Add instrumentation and infrastructure for A/B testing, dashboards to help the usability / data teams do their jobs
• Testing: Write automated tests for backend components
• Expected BS/MS in computer science or engineering or related fields. We’re flexible on formal education if you can demonstrate relevant skills.

Ginger.io is located in Cambridge, MA in Kendall Square, an epicenter of entrepreneurship, and just steps away from MIT.

Macbooks, large monitors, linux virtual machines and ergonomic exercise balls make for happy engineers.

Our meeting areas are actually cozy living rooms. No dress code, but we do require that you bring in intellect, curiosity and strong opinions to work everyday.
